transferring files from master to slave

hope someone can help. I have a 6gb HD at the moment and am about to install a 160gb and set it as my slave. I want to keep the operating system on the master and transfer every other file to the new slave drive. Can someone suggest the best way to do this.

Also, and this may be a silly question but which folder is the operating system kept. Is it the windows folder? I just want to make sure I don't transfer it bu mistake.

Finally, would it cause problems to have the operating system on both drives.

I am operating windows 2000 professional.
