Connecting to the internet

Hey, with my new computer, how would i be able to connect that to the internet? It has had the internet hooked up to it but now that i have it at my place can i hook it up to my internet connection or what? will i need a router? can i just unplug the internet from my computer and plug it into the new machine or what?

You should contact your ISP to get the information you need from them to be able to hook yourself up to the internet.
