As an construction/engineering firm we sent our generated plotfiles via FTP
to our printing service. For this we have a special program from them. This program runs fine on all computers except one. This one refuses to make contact. If i type the address in explorer i do get contact with that ftp-site. I already checked all settings, deleted the entire network stuff and rebooted and reinstalled it. No go. This pc is one of a group of five, four work fine this one not. I'ts an P4-1.8, running XP-pro. This one also has problems with finding our internal homepage. That is: http://192.168.1.8 works, http://vdlaar.nl does not work. Same problem? Anyone an idea where to look/what to fix?? Jan |

If http://192.168.1.8 works but http://vdlaar.nl does not, then it is probably a DNS issue. Make sure the DNS server is listed correctly in the connection properties. -- Your Free Insult: Thou mutinying, goring, after-hours whale bunching hypochondriac. |

Dont set the A record to 192.168.1.8. That would be silly.
