2800+ barton w/ xdream II overheating

Ok, ive got a 2800+ barton amd with a coolermaster xdream II heatsink and im getting temperatures in the mid 50s on full load. Im pretty sure these are not normal temperatures so i underclocked cpu internat frq from 166 to 133 to keep the temperature in the mid 40s, and its at 41 right now. I havent overclocked any, but i get a voice message with my a7n8x-e deluxe motherboard saying that system failed due to overclocking. That seems fairly random. Almost always i will have another voice message error stating my heatsink failed when i clearly see that it is spinning. I heard that this was a decent heatsink, but im curious why im getting such high temps with it. Not sure how accurate the bios or pc probe is for that matter of getting readings on temperatures. The 2 seem to be reporting the same temps so i think they are correct. Only ideas i have are the heatsink or thermal paste. I used the thermal paste that came with the heatsink which was silicone white. I probably shouldve gone with the arctic silver 5 though. I'm also considering getting a zalmon 7000a cu, but im not sure if this will solve the problem or not. If anybody's got some ideas, it'd be helpful...
