Problems after kernel update nforce2 mobo

Well after the security warning from Suse I apdated my Athlon nforce2 based
PC to 2.4.21-192-athlon using the online update in YAST. Upgrade
progressed smoothly but after the reboot I can no longer use the built in
network card on the motherboard. Has anybody else experienced this problem
and any advice on how to fix? I've tried the nvnet and forcedeth drivers.

I had LOTS of problems with an original asus nforce board and getting
networking going.

I've given up and stocked up on cheap ($10 new) network cards from the local
wholesaler.

Have you recompiled the modules from the nvidia tar file for the new kernel?
