| Great suspense on Swedish radio I just listened to a popular science program on Swedish Radio. They had invited some guy with a boxed set of SUSE Linux 9.0 to the studio and he is supposed to try installing this Linux distro on a three years old computer. This week we were told what the outside of the box looked like (it was described as being quite similar to other shrink wrapped software) and we also learned what a Linux distro is. Building distros can apparently be compared to a cooking competiton. I.e. you have some basic raw materials (the Linux kernel) and some spices and stuff (a collection of carefully selected open source software and perhaps one or two of your own secret ingredients - yast?). With these you use your talents and imagination to prepare a tasty meal (a Linux distribution). In next week's show the guy with the SUSE 9.0 box will insert CD No. 1 in the computer's CD drive and hit the start button. Then we will all be told what happens next. Great suspense :):). -- Olav P.
