Hi everyone,
I've recently been hired at a well-known NY cultural institution based
in the Bronx as dir. of IT. Our webserver is a Sun Netra running,
believe it or not, Solaris 2.6!!!! (as best as I can determine... i'm
way more comfortable using Linux). To SUN's credit, the machine is
absolutely rock solid...it runs without any problems but nonetheless,
it keeps me awake nights thinking of its vulnerability.
I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might like to either come
on site, or ssh in and help us patch things that need patching,
upgrade things that need upgrading etc... but without interrupting web
services since it's a production box. I tried installing apt-pkg but
even that proved problematic.. this machine needs BASH and SUDO and so
many just normal tools... I could use some help getting them
installed...
I know you all already think I'm nuts so I'll stop here...
Please do contact me at
jfreeman@threeofus.com if you'd like to talk
more about this.. or feel free to just flame me here on the group!
:-)
Cheers,
Joshua
