my scanner hello. i've just installed fedora core 1 and i have a hp 4300c scanner that i want to use it. i searched the internet for some drivers and i got them from sane (the latest). i installed them and i did everything they said to do in order to work, but it doesn't work. when i type sane-find-scanner it displays this: # No SCSI scanners found . If you expected something different, make sure that # you have loaded a SCSI driver for your SCSI adapter. found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0, product=0x0305) at /dev/usb/scanner0 found USB scanner (vendor=0x03f0 [Hewlett-Packard], product=0x0305 [Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 4300C]) at libusb:001:002 # Your USB scanner was (probably) detected. It may or may not be supported by # SANE. Try scanimage -L and read the backend's manpage. # Not checking for parallel port scanners. # Most Scanners connected to the parallel port or other proprietary ports # can't be detected by this program. and when i type scanimage -L it says that i don't have any scanner installed. can u help me, i'm rather new to linux. thank u metalsandman.
