joystick - how do i set it up

Hi all

I have a ms precision pro joystick. I googled on linux joysticks and
have found a wealth of info on drivers but little or no info on how this
is set up. I am running FC 1 and i know the joystick stuff is on my
system. I just don't know how to get the joystick working. If someone
could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. I am
a newbie so keep this in mind.

TIA

bently
