Depends if you are referring to Windows Desktop or Palm Dekstop. For Windows Dekstop, yes. But I think he was referring to Palm Desktop (as I was) --Andrew |

I also disagree with Palm about the Windows issue. As I said, it happens
(Palm Desktop shuts down) on my XP Pro desktop at work that has been restricted through user and group policies. It also started happening on my home XP Pro desktop which has a standard install with no group policies or user policies other then the default Admin and User rights. If Palm can not solve this I am dropping them for good and going the Windows based PDA route. At least they have 802.11 ! I am however still hopefully that we can solve this problem. Thanks for any further help on this Andre "Andrew" <I_dont_like_ham_@_or_spam_thanks.NOSPAM.net> wrote in message news:c85a10$5a4$1@ngspool-d02.news.aol.com... > Hello John, > > Saturday, May 15, 2004, 10:20:34 AM, you wrote: > > JW> in article c855in$2r8$1@ngspool-d02.news.aol.com, Andrew at > JW> I_dont_like_ham_@_or_spam_thanks.NOSPAM.net wrote on 5-15-04 14:22: > > >> Hello Andre, > >> > >> Saturday, May 15, 2004, 1:18:50 AM, you wrote: > >> > >> A> I recently started having problems with my desktop (Both versions 4.1.2 and > >> A> 4.1.4) shutting down as soon as I start it up on my office XP Pro box. At least they have 802.11 ! I've seen this happen before. Did you recently install a copy of Mozilla? Some early versions try to install an address add-in that doesn't work on some systems and causes the desktop to fail to startup. If you can run Regedit, look in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PalmSource\Desktop\Hot sync Manager And look at the list of Notifier DLLs. One of these may be the Mozilla notifier; if so, delete the registry key, and see if that helps you out. BTW, aren't you the same user who was asking about 802.11b devices last week? I posted listing the Palm OS devices with integrated wireless (repeated here): PalmOne Tungsten C CLIE PEG-TH55 CLIE PEG-UX50 Alphasmart Dana Wireless I'd appreciate you getting your facts straight. |
