need help please: TT3, Nokia 6610, GPRS

greetings,

I need some help configuring my new TT3 to connect to the net using GPRS
with the Nokia 6610 over IR. I have been trying for days now, searched for
info, changed settings, with no luck.

Here is what I tried in order to narrow down the problem:

(1) The phone is connected to Telstra and **is** GPRS enabled. I can connect
my laptop with the 6610 to GPRS over IR, with no problem. (I can also WAP
from the phone, but it's not related to my problem...)
(2) I tested dialup to an ISP with the T3 & 6610 over IR, and can connect.
So I know connectivity between the T3 and the 6610 over IR is OK (awfully
slow though...)
(3) I used the Phone Link Updater utility to configure the T3 to work with
my phone. I have the right driver and when I test the connection using
"Preferences --> Communication --> Phone --> Test" , the test results show
"Response OK" and the 6610.
(4) In the "Communication --> Connection" I am using the correct phone
(6610)
(5) In the "Communication --> Connection --> Edit..." I tried connecting to
PC, Modem, Phone and Local Network.
When I tried to connect:
PC and Network showed that I'm connected, but Web Pro (version 3.0.1a)
complained that no DNS server available (although the network is configured
to obtain IP automatically)
Phone and Modem just showed the message "dialling...", and after the T3
switches itself off I get the message "Error: no carrier (0x1102)

In short:
GPRS works with the laptop and the 6610 over IR.
Dialup works with the T3 and the 6610 over IR.
GPRS does not work for me with the T3 and the 6610 over IR.

Any ideas?

(btw: the 6610 does not support bluetooth so it's out of the question...)

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Y.

Re: need help please: TT3, Nokia 6610, GPRS

OK, did something radical and called Telstra. For a change they were VERY
helpful and assisted me with enterin the script. It was just a matter of
script...

So now I'm GPRS'ing happily (but slowly...)

(...that's until Palm will get their act together and resolve the SD card /
Wi-Fi issue...)

Thanks for anyone who was trying to help...

Y.

Re: need help please: TT3, Nokia 6610, GPRS

Try WebToGo it has an auto-configuration function. It will detect the
phone, the network, and adjust the login script automatically.
