The problem with the original and the EPIA V is that they use SDRAM and thus the graphics subsystem is rather slow. The 800 has problems playing mpeg2 files recorded from DTT (digital terrestrial TV). M series use DDR memory and are much faster, especially the Nehemiah versions. The M version does have a BIOS setting for CPU speed but its greyed out. Perhaps future BIOS versions will enable it. The CPU cooling fan is practically inaudible. I'm currently waiting for the TC version because its powered from a single 12V supply and thus the PSU can be external and silent. |
