trying to install it on one desktop. >-----Original Message----- >is it an original copy of XP? > >>-----Original Message----- >>On December 24th, I posted: I can't get xp to activate. >>when i click on activate in >>> the lower left corner, nothing happens. when i look for >>> activate in all programs, it is not there...help! >> >>and got the the response:Did you buy a computer with XP >>installed? If so it is probably already >>activated. If you installed XP you should have activated >>when prompted. Try >>Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Activate >>Windows. >>I did not buy the computer with XP insalled. That >computer >>has never had windows before. After setting up the >>internet connection, I click on "activate" when it pops >>up, and nothing happens. When I look for "activate" in >>Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Activate >>Windows, it is NOT THERE! Any ideas? >>. you can run this , it should reset it. http://ryan.ript.net/xppid/ This did not work either When I run http://ryan.ript.net/xppid/, I get an error message: This file does not have a progam associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folders Options control panel. How do I do this or does that message mean something else is wrong? |
