The Change in Environemnt vairables Path causes problems in explorer

Hello,
I have tried to modify the environment variables path to
read as follows %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%
SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;D:\Sun\AppServer\jdk\bin \ to
include the D:\Sun\AppServer\jdk\bin\ in the path. After
having done this it seems that explorer is taking ages to
laod properly i.e when you run explorer or my computer
you get the torch icon looking for files. After a very
long time explorer displays all the correct drive
information such as the D" and E: drives.

I have removed the entry ;D:\Sun\AppServer\jdk\bin\ from
the path, however this has not resolved the problem.

I have also noted that in the event viewer system log I
am getting an error

The Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) service hung on
starting, and also restarted and switched off the pc, as
well as the service.

I have checked the services and its status is started.
This error started coming up after the changes to the
environment variables above have been made. Is this
related in any way? Please help and advise on how to
rectify the situation.

Thanks in advance and regards,
Etienne
