Talking Delete Nprotect

Type the following in the DOS box under XP:

rd \\?\c:\recycler\nprotect /s

there are only two spaces one after rd and one before /s.

After this you hit ENTER and type Yes and hit enter again.

Now the whole box will be deleted.

Nice trick! Thank You!

Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!

I've been scratching my head for two days trying to get rid of a ton of files in there that end with a "." but nothing can delete them.

I thought Maybe there was a directory problmen and scandisk might fix it, but it doesn's see any problem.

I had all this space used, even thouhg norton said the recycle bin had been purged.

I had tried all my tricks before this finally worked.

what does the \\?\C: mean? I've never seen that kind of UNC path before.

Thank you

dan

I loved norton utilities back in the late 80's, but they have really let their utilities go to crap lately. I'm not even sure I like Norton AV anymore even though I've used it for years. Every issue I've had recently their website says uninstall and reinstall. I think that is how I got these undeletable files.
