When I was using Windowes 2000 pro I changed the system short date setting to display only the year i.e. 2004 by customizing it to "yyyy" and the long date as I wanted. I have some programs that reference these settings. I got a new computer with XP pro and I am unable to customize the short date " get an invalid character error but I can change the long daye to display the year only. Any ideas on how i can change the short date to display the year only? (yes I do know were to chang it but it will not allow the short date field to display the year only)
Yes I have the same problem in Win XP Pro. For me it seems to be a leftover from serious virus infection, and impacting on an accounting program that now refuses to work. Anyone with ideas/clues/fixes will be welcomed with open arms
