There are so many updates and Service packs that it would
be impossible to download these on a dial up internet provider. I recently built a computer for my daughter and all she can afford is dial up. I hate giving this system to her without the updates installed. If they were already on the system then maybe it would not be such an impossible task to keep up with the (weekly, daily, hourly) updates on XP home edition with dial up. Is there a cd with this on it? Is there a list of just the necessary ones or is there a cummulative one thus so far? I do have cable high speed service and would be happy to download them into a file and burn a cd to put them on her system but wheres the list of whats needed. I tryed using her system to go to the update site and do a system scan but after 45 minutes we just gave up on that idea. I know what some are thinking, why not get a faster internet provider, however she doesn't currently have bill gates resources at her disposal. Any info would be very much appreciated. |

You can download the updates and burn them to CD. Open Windows updates and from the left menu choose Personalize Windows updates. You download and save the updates to hard drive and then burn the files to a CD. -- Michael Stevens MS-MVP XP xpnews@bogusmichaelstevenstech.com http://michaelstevenstech.com For a better newsgroup experience.
