Can't configure FP extensions

Help! I've tried everything here. Uninstalled, re-
installed IIS a number of times. Gone to MS site for most
recent version of extensions (tried both 2000 and 2002).
Visual Studio 2003 is requiring that I configure the
extensions on my default web site (on a Windows 2000 PC)
in order to start an ASP.NET project.

Every time I try to configure the extensions, I get to the
first page of the wizard where it is presumably looking
for the web server to configure extensions on. It doesn't
find anything (the available list is blank). Installing
IIS does create the file structure correctly (c:\inetpub\
etc.)

I've installed every security update I can find, I have
service pack 4 running, and I'm quickly running out of
ideas!

Visual Studio 2003 does not require FPSE (and they are not even recommended
for use with VS2003). Use the file share method instead if that's all you
need the FPSE for ...
Tools -> Options -> Projects -> Web Settings

Re: Can't configure FP extensions

Thanks very much for your clarification, and that sends me
in a different direction. Front Page extensions weren't
even being used (chasing the wrong thing). But I can't
create ASP.NET applications on the Web server

If you still need help, you'll need to be more specific about what the
problem is ...
