Re: IIS6 fails to start - error 2147500034 (0x80004002)

There are no other related events I can find in the log.
The Metabase.xml file is listed as being 37KB in size.

Re: IIS6 fails to start - error 2147500034 (0x80004002)

IIS was working. I tried to install ARCIMS and TOMCAT and
at that point it was still working. However, I had not
installed TOMCAT and ARCIMS properly in relation to IIS
6.0, so I had to uninstall them and start over. It was
after I uninstalled those two packages that IIS stopped
working. When the system rebooted after their removal, I
recieved an error saying that a service had not started
and when I checked the event log, those errors are what I
found.

I have since tried to uninstall and reinstall IIS, but I
still get the exact same errors.

i am replying to this for all those people in the world who may be looking for a solution. What a frustrating problem.

I installed ArcGIS Server on Windows Server 2003 SP 2 before properly configuring IIS 6.0.... similar to the previous person's problem.

regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\oleaut32.dll

worked for me!
