Hi,

I'm trying to install Samba 3.0.21b on my FreeBSD 6 box. The box does
not have direct access to the Internet so the installation fails when
the "make" attempts to fetch the required packages from various ftp
sites. So I put (from a CD) the samba-3.0.21b.tar.gz file into the
/usr/ports/distfiles directory and restart the make command but I'm
getting the same error message.

Your help would be appreciated very much.

can you post the last output? Maybe the checksum is incorrect or so ...

Did you update your ports tree ? How ?

You told, that yo have placed the samba-3.0.21b.tar.gz into
your portfiles dir, but you need the file samba-3.0.14a.tar.gz.

Please have a look for the right file, or update your ports tree.

If you have no internet access on the bsd machine, you can download the
ports as tar.file and extract it on the bsd machine.
