Default Exchange 5.5 Offline Restore

OK, I need to pick your collective brains. I'm trying to restore an offline
priv.edb on Exchange 5.5. I followed the process in KB article 183266
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;183266&Product=ech .
The problem comes when I attempt to run isinteg -patch. I get
Jet_errColumnNotFound. The Database is coming back as consistent, but I
still can't open the information store. Jet_errColumnNotFound has revealed
nothing.

Standard Trouble shooting taken care of.Names are the same, Service Packed.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

-Hal

Could it be that DB is damaged in your offline backup?
Have you tried to run ISINTEG and ESEUTIL against it?

Eseutil /mh tells be the db is consistent. Isinteg -pri -test alltests
fails with Jet_errColumnNotFound.

I really need to get this back if possilble.

Not so much. Exchange Directory Starts, MTA Starts, and the System
Attendant starts. Nothing else, notably the Information Store.

Also, when I try to start the Information Store manually, I get Event ID
1087, which says to run Isinteg -patch. And so the circle of down database
continues....

Also, we have no logs, only the .edb.

Do you have another copy of the DB?

If at some point you run the -patch with the wrong reg keys you have to go
back to a copy of the DB before doing that.

Make sure to verify the Org and Site from the database.

find /i "Recipients" priv.edb

When you see the ones with mixed upper and lower case then CTRL+C as that is
the right name.

Hope that helps,
